Bard v ChatGPT: How Do The LLMs Stack Up Against Each Other?
The AI revolution is not just about ChatGPT
It would be easy to think that with all the hype, excitement and attention going to ChatGPT, this was the only AI game in town. Nothing could be further from the truth. Microsoft have jumped on the OpenAI wagon and have a big stake in ChatGPT, but the other big player, arguably the biggest player in AI for the past decade, is Google.
So, the question is, how does ChatGPT compare with Google’s Bard? To be crystal clear, I ask the question from a user experience POV, not a technical one. The underlying AI systems for the two are different, but that is not what this article is about. And before I go on, I should say that there are other AI systems to consider, it’s not a two horse race. But for now I’m going to focus on the two biggest names and wait for Anthropic and Meta to put their AI models into the mainstream before I dig into them.
As context, for my own work, I primarily rely on three generative AI tools for writing and text based content creation. I use both ChatGPT Plus and Google Bard, but I also use NotionAI everyday to summarise and research content I’ve clipped off the web.
